Our Comfort Care Way
Comfort Care: A New Approach to Palliative and End-of-Life Care
Comfort Care is a new way of framing, discussing and delivering end-of-life and palliative care within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities. This innovative and culturally sensitive approach bridges the gap between medical care and the cultural and spiritual needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, setting a new national standard for culturally responsive Comfort Care.
Our Principles and Constitution
NATSIPCA is empowered by section 25 of the South Australian Associations Incorporations Act 1985 to achieve the Association's objectives, guided by the following principles:
Cultural Respect: We integrate the cultural beliefs and practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples into all aspects of Comfort Care.
Community Empowerment: We support local communities to actively engage in Comfort Care planning and delivery.
Holistic Care: We take a holistic approach to contributing to addressing the physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and social needs of individuals and families on their Comfort Care journeys.
